Life Is Not Perfect, But Your Hair Can Be

Do you skip a heartbeat every time you brush your hair and see a huge clump of hair stuck in the comb? Well, you don’t need to worry too much about it.

Studies suggest that for an average person it's normal to shed between 50 and 100 strands of hair a day.

But what if you’re losing more than 100 hair follicles in a day?

While there could be a number of reasons like weight loss, stress, high fever, operation, hormonal changes or usage of wrong products; with proper hair care routine and nutrition you can get the perfect hair of your dreams.

Here are a few easy and simple tips to give your hair that lustre and shine you always wanted:

Have a balanced diet

A balanced and well-rounded diet is very important to keep your hair and scalp healthy. Ensure you have a diet that is rich in protein, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids. Protein keeps the hair healthy, zinc combats shedding and omega-3 stimulates hair follicles and sebaceous glands.

A good source of these is eggs, fish, flax seeds, fruits, green leafy vegetables, cottage cheese and yoghurt.

Washing hacks

There's an optimal way to wash your hair at home for a salon-worthy bounce. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Wash your hair only three times a week. This is enough for most hair types.
  • Use filtered lukewarm water to wash the hair and in the end pour a mug of cold water. Warm water opens up the hair cuticle and cold water shuts it to lock in the moisture.
  • Massage the roots of your hair. This will boost blood flow to the scalp and help stimulate hair growth.
  • Avoid rubbing your hair with a towel, instead gently squeeze excess water out using a smooth fabric or an old t-shirt.
  • Avoid using heat-styling tools like curling iron, blow dryer, and flat iron as it could damage your hair by making it dry and brittle.
  • Brush your hair the right way. Start by holding your hair mid-length and brush the tips first to remove tangles. Slowly, move upwards and remove the tangles.

Figure out what suits your hair

Everyone’s hair is different and when it comes to the right shampoo there is no ‘one fit for all.’ Hence, focus on what your hair needs and choose the shampoo and conditioner accordingly.

If your hair is flat, choose an organic shampoo and conditioner that boosts volume. For curly hair, invest in hair products that moisturize your hair, tame frizz, and make it soft and manageable.

Avoid hair products that have a lot of chemicals like ammonium lauryl sulfate or sodium lauryl sulfate. You can find some amazing range of organic, sulphate-free and 100% natural hair products here.

In the end, remember that cultivating a healthy hair care routine is key. After all, beautiful hair starts from having a healthy lifestyle.
